Dva klokani způsobili hromadný pád v pelotonu asi 96 kilometrů před cílem. Kromě Berga a Huisinga museli kvůli zraněním odstoupit také Australan Lucas Stevenson a Ital Alberto Dainese. Na zemi skončil i lídr závodu Australan Jay Vine, který se ale rychle vrátil do pelotonu a úvodní podnik nové sezony World Tour ovládl stejně jako v roce 2023.
